BMH Hires New Director of Medical RecordsMay 14, 2004 - (BUTLER, PA) – Marcia Hoover, MBA, RHIA, CHE was recently hired as the new director of medical records at Butler Memorial Hospital.Hoover comes to BMH from North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie, MD where she served as the Director of Health Information Management. She also previously worked at St. Agnes Hospital, Harbor Hospital Center, University of Maryland Medical Systems and Howard County General Hospital, all in Maryland. “We are pleased to have Marcia leading our medical records team,” says Anne Krebs, vice president of finance at BMH. “She has vast experience in the medical records field and this experience will help us to streamline our records process here at BMH.” Hoover has a bachelor of science degree in health records administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a master degree in Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. She has also received HIPAA Privacy Advanced Certification. “I am excited to be part of a dynamic management team that is moving towards electronic medical records,” says Hoover. “The most important thing we do in medical records is to provide information for patient care while upholding our patients rights to privacy.” Hoover is a registered information administrator (RHIA) with American Health Information Management Association, where she is a member. She is also a Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) with American College of Healthcare Executives. Hoover resides in Butler. She is the daughter of Herbert and Shirley Bales of Elizabeth, PA. |
