November 15, 2004 - (BUTLER, PA) – Three new board members have been appointed to the Butler Health System Board of Trustees. The new members are Kathryn Helfer, Marcia Segraves, and Patricia Green.

“These women all have very impressive backgrounds and extensive experience managing a variety of businesses and serving on other boards of directors. That experience is invaluable,” said William D. Bessor, chairman of the Butler Health System Board of Trustees. “All three will be true assets as the board continues to lead Butler Health System into an exciting and promising future for the communities we serve.”

Helfer is a long-standing member of the Butler community and currently sits on the boards of the Butler Health System Foundation and Butler County Community Development Corporation. She has owned Hays & Hartzell Realty located along Pittsburgh Road in Butler since 1988. She also has served on several other Butler area boards, including the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Butler County, and Butler County Real Estate Association.

Segraves is a resident of Saxonburg. She has had a distinguished career in banking as manager of two of the largest branches of Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, including branches at Mellon’s corporate headquarters at One Mellon Center and also at Fifth Avenue. She currently sits on the board of directors of the Butler Symphony Association. She is a former president of the Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and also has served on several community boards, including the Salvation Army, United Way of Butler County, and Saxonburg Public Library.

Green is the manager of Boscov's Department Store in the Clearview Mall. She has held several positions in the retail business in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, where she was active in each of the communities in which she lived. She also has held human resource management positions throughout her career. A member of the Butler Rotary Club who also serves on its board of directors, Green lives in Center Township.

The three new board members replace Dr. Ronald Cypher, Dr. Jonathan Evans, and Dr. Surendra Sethi as they rotate off the board.
