BMH Women’s Heart Advantage Presents Ladies Day OutSeptember 27, 2005 - (BUTLER, PA) - Butler Memorial Hospital and it’s Women’s Heart Advantage program is presenting an event called Ladies Day Out. The purpose of the day is to educate Butler County women about heart disease, how to reduce their risk factors and to offer some fun activities.
The event will be held at the Butler Intermediate High School on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“This is a day dedicated to caring for women and helping them learn how to reduce stress, change their diet, exercise, relax and have fun,” says Program Coordinator Lauren McCune, R.N., Cardiovascular Program Coordinator. “We want to make women more aware of their risk for heart disease in an educational but fun atmosphere.”
Featured will be exercise demonstrations including aerobics, resistance training, Silver Sneakers, line dancing, Pilates and yoga. Information will be available on risks and side effects of high blood pressure; women’s health, stress management; and diabetes. Health screenings will include blood pressure screening, height/weight and waist circumference screenings and an osteoporosis screening. I lipid profile lab test will also be available.
Other vendors such as Your Figure, J & M Fitness; Weight Watchers, Avon, Creative Catering and Curves will also be part of the health expo.
