Butler Health System Appoints New Chief of Heart and Vascular Services
June 30, 2008 - (Cranberry Township, PA) - Dean E. Wolz, M.D., F.A.C.C., has joined Butler Health System. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Wolz will provide physician leadership for BHS's noted HeartCenter and heart and vascular service line. His practice, BHS Cardiovascular Consultants, is located at BHS WholeHealth in Cranberry Township inside the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA on Ehrman Road. Dr. Wolz has more than 20 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine. He previously served as a partner with Frazier-Hart, Inc. Cardiovascular Group in Washington, PA, with primary practice at Washington Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital.

A native of Erie, PA, Dr. Wolz graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV and served an internal medicine residency with York Hospital in York, PA. He then did a cardiovascular fellowship with Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He is a member of the American Medical Association and board certified through the American College of Cardiology.
